December Combo Sale: Hallicher Nei Yaahr CD & 2021 Calendar
This month, the LTHS is promoting a combo sale on two of its items, the Hallicher Nei Yaahr compact disc (CD) and its 2021 calendar, Greetings from Longswamp.
The 2021 Greetings from Longswamp calendar contains vintage postcards from the LTHS collection including seasonal cards.
Hallicher Nei Yaahr CD, a 2011 production, includes 18 selections. The New Year Wish, a “sing-song” Pennsylvania Dutch blessing, is followed by hymns and instrumental folk songs including Home Sweet Home, Golden Slippers, Grandfathers Clock, Auld Lange Syne among others. The cover art is done by Peter V. Fritsch.
The New Year’s Wish, a Pennsylvania Dutch tradition, was a trademark of the late Peter V. Fritsch and his father, J. P. Fritsch. The 2019 calendar paid tribute to Peter and his artwork. Following Peter’s death in 2015, the tradition was continued by Michael and Linda Hertzog.
