Freehall

The township villages of Freehall, Ringtown, and Topton (a one-time village of the township) are located along the northern and western edges of Longswamp Township.

Freehall (Free Hall) is on the western edge of Topton, along Freehall Road. Ringtown (Jeffersonville) is north of the borough; the 2003 Brandywine Heights High School building is the village's landmark. Topton was a Longswamp Township village until 1877 when it became an independent borough.

In addition, the booklet highlights the history of The Lutheran Home at Topton, located in Longswamp Township.

"The Village of Freehall" was researched, written, and published by the Longswamp Township Historical Society in 2020. All ten of our "Village series" booklets are available for purchase from our web store.
